BANGKOK- Part 1

CITY OF LIFE

From Bangkok

There would always be a reason why anyone should visit Bangkok- either its for pleasure, family bonding, friends' acquaintances, lovers' paradise, business opportunities, great shoppings and hey!...its also a good thing of how you can analyze your own city.

Your first landing will kiss your eager heart with spacious and cozy airport- the Suvarnabhumi Airport. At a very first glance, your tired eyes will be soothed by Thai People's depiction of creativity.

From Bangkok

Along the road, you'll see the unique structures that even a simple traveler would appreciate. Bangkok is never tired of giving designs that the world would be amused with. Although I warn you, this city has one of the heaviest road traffic in the world (yes, its worst than Manila, i bet you!) but the city government is restless to give the commuters the best alternatives that it could have. There are regular shuttle buses roaming the huge airport- down to the main bus stations (and its free!- during daytime), there are regular buses that transport the budget travelers to the main city of Bangkok, the metered taxi (oohh..I love their cabs, it's like riding in a moving spa because of the soothing scent and leatherized seats)- all vying the fly-over road defying the traffic.

From Bangkok
You can roam around Bangkok by simply riding the most convenient train system I ever seen in Asia. It is clean, accessible, not too crowded (except rush hours, of course) and can bring you to the most of your preferred destination within the city. This is the reason why most of the foreign travelers (noticeably the caucasians), neighboring asians including me- are confidently boarding the train.

From Bangkok
Another uniqueness that most of Asian neighbors should learn from Thais (aside from our Chinese brethren) is, they maximize the use of their river. Chao Phraya River- considered as the bloodline of the Thai people, is also one of the major waterways in Thailand . I t creates attractions to thousands of travelers. Aside from the very cheap fare (around B18- to the farthest station), it connects most of the major tourist spots in Bangkok- Wat Aran, Wat Po, The Grand Palace, etc.

From Bangkok
Visit in Thailand is not complete without a ride from the infamous Jame's Bond Movie- riding a TUK-TUK! Although not most of the TUK-TUK are not as honest as the cab drivers, you can always haggle with the rates to roam around the city. Just be aware of those establishments that these TUK-TUK will bring you. They are more concern about the commisions they would get (from the establishments) rather than your time and money you will spend.

From Bangkok
There will always be a reason why Bangkok is called as the 'City of Life'. You must have your own will to discover the secrets.
